Sustainability at ECKPFEILER

Our approach: Planning for the future

As project developers, builders and property owners, we are aware of our creative, ecological and social responsibility. Above all, the aim is to create functional residential areas that offer a high quality of life and security for the future. The ECKPFEILER Immobilien Gruppe has always focused on sustainable construction. Sustainability is an integral part of our corporate philosophy and means more to us than just 'green building'.

To build better means to live better

ECKPFEILER develops real estate from the perspective of long-term asset management. From this perspective, we think and act in the interest of future users and design nearly climate-neutral buildings. Low operating costs for the residents, a largely self-sufficient and secure supply of electricity and heat by means of renewable energy sources as well as a healthy and green living environment with a strong neighbourhood concept are at the heart of all our projects.

"We look at the entire life cycle and develop from the perspective of an inventory holder – this is what makes ECKPFEILER special as a project developer. The maximum saving potential and thus the greatest impact on climate protection lies in the useful life of a property. We constantly examine the latest technologies that enable the most ecological solutions possible."

– Sabrina Schmitz, Team leader project development

Circular economy

Climate change, population growth and unsustainable lifestyles: In order to overcome global challenges like these, new solutions are also required in the construction and real estate industry. The recycling of materials from the existing buildings is planned as early as the planning phase. The waste material is tested for harmful substances in a complex process and should be recycled as much as possible. When selecting materials for our newly developed buildings, we also prefer to choose recyclable, environmentally friendly building materials.

We act responsibly

In the interests of the circular economy

Climate change, population growth and unsustainable lifestyles: In order to overcome global challenges like these, new solutions are also required in the construction and real estate industry, particularly for the responsible use of raw materials. A linear construction method is no longer compatible with the preservation of our planet.

At ECKPFEILER, the recycling of materials from the existing buildings is planned as early as the planning phase. The old material is tested for harmful substances in a complex process and should be recycled if possible. When selecting materials for our newly developed buildings, we also prefer recyclable, environmentally friendly, certified building materials.

Measurable and transparent

We see sustainability certifications as an opportunity for a long-term increase in the value of the properties. Our projects are assessed according to DGNB – German Society for Sustainable Building or QNG – Quality Seal for Sustainable Buildings. An auditor accompanies our process from the beginning and uses the respective certification system as a planning and optimization tool from the conception phase to completion. Possible undesirable developments can be identified at an early stage and measures can be taken.

The criteria allow an objective assessment of individual buildings or entire districts and their impact on the global and local environment. They are constantly being developed and adapted to the latest findings. Ecology, economy, processes, socioculture, function, technology and location are the focus of the assessment and make the quality of sustainable construction measurable, transparent and comparable.
