CampusRO: Living, Sharing, Networking

CampusRO was realized on the approximately 10,000 m² site directly opposite the Rosenheim University of Technology and includes 211 apartments for students as well as a boarding house with 40 managed apartments. During the development, student life was considered in its entirety and the campus was designed in a kind of settlement structure. The individual buildings are networked with each other, there are various sharing areas such as a fitness room, show kitchen and lounges for learning, living and exchanging ideas together. The architectural highlight of the district will be the stylish rooftop bar on the sixth floor, which will be unique in Rosenheim in terms of atmosphere and panoramic views of the Chiemgau Alps.

The site is being developed within the framework of a development plan procedure with the aim of converting the commercial site. The buildings will be constructed using KfW40+ construction methods and DGNB Platinum certification is being sought. The first buildings were completed in the winter semester of 2021. The official opening ceremony for student housing took place in May 2022. The boarding house is due to go into operation by spring 2023.

The boarding house went into operation in autumn 2023 and was subsequently awarded with DGNB Platinum as the first student residential area in Germany.

In December 2023, the award-winning project was sold to a German foundation that carries on the values and philosophy of Germany's most sustainable student residential area.

Location & Surroundings

Campus RO not only impresses with its innovative overall concept, but above all its student residents with its unsurpassable location directly at Rosenheim Technical University. The neighbourhood in the north of Upper Bavaria's third-largest city offers everything that daily needs require: from shopping facilities to green spaces and sports facilities to nearby public transport connections (bus and train).

While the picturesque old town of Rosenheim is only two kilometres away, the surrounding area has a lot to offer, too - especially for nature lovers and sports enthusiasts. Whether excursions to the nearby Chiemsee, (winter-) sports activities in neighbouring Austria or a visit to the Bavarian capital, the possibilities are diverse.
